Royal Enfield Scram 411 – 2022

In an unfortunate blunder which may prove opportunistic, information about the new Royal Enfield motorcycle to be launched in India later this year has been leaked…and the Scram 411 is looking mighty fine indeed.

Based on the much loved and capable Royal Enfield Himalayan, the Scram 411 has essentially the same motorcycling genes but has been made more for the road and touring in mind.

It will share the same engine 411cc single cylinder single overhead cam, air cooled and fuel injected as the Himalayan at 24.4hp and 32Nm Torque. It will also have a five speed gearbox and much of the electrical, mechanical and geometry will remain unchanged.

However there will be visual cues to differentiate the two. The Scram 411 will have an accessory option small visor, single-piece seat, headlight cowl nacelle style and speedo with tripper nav option too…and an aluminium sump guard for added protection.

The Scram 411 will also get telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. It will have disc brakes and dual channel ABS with a 19inch front & 17inch rear tyre…much more suited to the road surfaces.

The expected release date is to be towards the end of March and it is unknown at this stage whether the Scram will be made available to other markets around the world.
