I’ve wanted to try the BMW R 1250 RT for the longest time since it had its upgrades in 2021 so I took the chance to try out a 2023 model as I think about moving onto a tourer and bike that would be great for commuting too.

Hi Alf, changed from my Sportglide, (with modified seat) to the k1600 bagger. It felt very ungainly at low speed and hard work in traffic. One year later changed to the R1250RT. Fantastic machine.
After the k16 I opted for no radio, which I considered poor. I did however go for a tall screen, love that bubble effect. Quick shift I have but rarely use.
Oh and close to 60 to the gallon.
Cheers
Phil Hensley (at Calcot)
Ah that’s great Phil, I was thinking of you when mentioning the K1600. hoping to give it a try soon myself but the RT is a great bike for sure
