Helmet law Repeal in Missouri – USA – Vetoed by State Governor

On Friday, state governor: Mike Parson vetoed a proposal that would allow riders of 18+ yrs of age and with health insurance not be required to wear a motorcycle helmet because of irregularities within the proposal and that there was an unrelated part dealing with driver licence suspensions due to court fine payment failures.

He stated that this alliance with another rule of law would effectively cause more problems for citizen and could lead to civil unrest because of past Police actions towards drivers during a stop and search process that mostly targeted black drivers and which has led to the shooting of some and led to riots on Ferguson some time ago.

The Missouri legal eagles have tried numerous times to repeal the helmet law and the last time in 2009 was also vetoed by the then governor also.
