Harley Davidson Spin Off Company – LiveWire to launch mid size electric bike?

It seems that the LiveWire company, that recently formed outside of Harley Davidson some months ago, is making some waves not only in the corporate world but also with new tech and products.

Recently it was reported that the LiveWire company would be floated on the NYSE in the first quarter of 2022 with some investment from new strategic partner: Kymco from Taiwan.

Now it appears that the R&D boffins in LiveWire may be close to releasing another electric motorcycle that will be mid sized and competitively priced for the future buyer.

The new project called ‘Arrow’ (Sounds like DC comics inspired) will have the battery as a structural member of the bike itself. It will form the frame which other components such as swingarm and head stock will be fused onto it. This adds to substantial size and weight saving.

The new battery technology also incorporates over 21000 li-ion cells which can generate power at a number of levels which essentially means the Arrow or derivatives of it can be produced at different power outputs to cater for different markets, age groups and licence type holders.

The recently released info will have the Arrow motor/frame designated at S2 and the first motorcycle concept will be the S2 Del Mar, which some are speculating is similar to the Flat Tracker sketches released some years ago.

This new size and reduced power output could be just what the market has been calling for from LiveWire and Harley-Davidson and it may very well be the dawn of a new era of affordable and capable EV motorcycles too.

More to evolve in time.
