Harley-Davidson have finally made it public via their social media sites that the LIVE virtual launch of their 2022 motorcycles will be on the 26th January 2022, as was reported here a couple of months ago.
The question remains as to the format of the virtual launch and will it be any different than last year’s efforts, which many objective observers were left rather confused about the heavy loading of corporate fluff, ‘the lifestyle’, rider stories…actors or whomever else wanted to join the party and being very thin on detail too.
Can we expect another monologue from CEO Jochem Zeitz that will push our attention spans to the limit? Perhaps more interviews with the rather awkward H-D employees instead of paying for professional presenters.
The company have been very tight lipped about new motorcycles although there have been strong rumours about changes to the fleet, comings and goings…but very little meat on the bones.
Perhaps they need to entertain us with more shock and awe but give us something to really get excited about. Less fluff about the past and more about the present and the future too. Facts! Details! Which bikes are staying, which are leaving. What new bikes or variants will be out in 2022.
Whilst we don’t expect the company to research the opinions of existing customers or potential new ones…although that might be a good idea if they started. We don’t expect them to read every blog or watch every video that is made about them…although that might be a start. What we do expect is for them to show some connection with their customer and those that are likely to be buying their products in the next year too.
I, like many will be very interested in what they can deliver. I am hopeful of a vast improvement on last year’s live launch too. I may stand alone with that opinion and perhaps I may alienate myself from the Harley-Davidson fan base but I want to be excited about what is to come and not necessarily have to sit through a history lesson that most are very well versed with.
