Ducati Recall Diavel 2023

Ducati North America have just recalled the Ducati Diavel power cruiser for 2023 for potential failings with the passenger footpegs.

In released service bulletin documents relating to the Diavel and the footpeg batch K22, it was discovered that there was a potential defect in the production process on the part of the supplier of passenger foot pegs for the Diavel V4 model.

For this reason Ducati have issued the recall whereby owners can have the footpegs changed by the dealerships.

The footpegs are thought to potentially fail when the passenger is mounting the motorcycle or even when the bike is in motion, which is of concern for obvious reasons.

This from the NHTSA:

Potential Number of Units Affected: 145

Problem Description:
Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2023 Diavel V4 motorcycles. The right and/or left side passenger foot pegs may
break while mounting or riding the motorcycle.

Consequence:
A broken foot peg can cause the passenger to suddenly lose their foot support, increasing the risk of crash or injury.

Remedy:
Dealers will inspect and if necessary, replace the right and/or left side passenger foot pegs, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 3,
