Cornejo takes stage 7 at Dakar 2022

Chilean rider Cornejo Florimo surges forward to take the win for the seventh stage at Dakar 2022 on the Monster Energy Honda which now sees him just flirting with the tail end of the top ten overall.

Van Beveren had another impressive day and now leads overall after his 11th place finish but well ahead of rivals Walkner and Sunderland finishing 19th and 20th respectively and now sit 2nd and 4th overall being split by last year’s winner Kevin Benavides on the KTM who finished second on the day just some 44secs off the lead.

So as per normal in the blink of an eye all can change at the Dakar and is all set for the final last stages this week.

the top seven places overall now being separated by a mere 8:33mins so all to race for in tomorrow’s stage from Al Dawadimi to Wadi Ad Dawasir.
