Less than a week has passed since the virtual launch of the brand new motorcycle from Harley Davidson…’Evolution to Revolution’ as they unveiled their new Sportster S with the liquid cooled Revolution Max 1250T engine.

It is fair to say it’s had a mixed response since its launch however most agree that the engine is the real star of this new path for the American brand. Whilst the detractors would look at the Sportster S with less than envious eyes due mainly to its ample influences of previous air cooled Sportsters making it a mish-mosh of styles, they would also begin to churn with excitement at what can come next in the model series.

During the video launch, it was confirmed as many had already suggested that this Sportster S would not be the only model coming. There is even room for a ‘full power’ version to come out or at least a tune package that could unlock the full 150hp.

Whilst it was not strictly mentioned in the launch, we already know that the Revolution Max engine can come in various sizes and power ratings. Of course we know of the 1250 but there is also a 975cc as well as the potential for a 700 and 500cc if they so wish…thus lending the model series to be opened up to entry level bikers too.

In previous press releases and leaks, it was heavily hinted that a much more street sportier model would be available with many cafe racer styling cues too and would feature the 975cc engine. Whilst many are still waiting for the Street Fighter dubbed ‘Bronx’ to be launched, perhaps the next major model unveiling will be the next in model series of the Sportster.

Recently the ‘Nightster’ name had been registered by the company which led to legions of fans thinking this would be the official name for the Bronx, however it could actually become the name of the new Sportster cafe styled racer with mini fairing and low slung exhaust. If the pictures or mock ups are to be credible then this is what we really have been waiting for. Now this is something to get excited about. Don’t be surprised if 2022 start off with this bike being unveiled to the masses and just wait for the reaction on this…I wager a much more uniform approval on this rather than on the Sportster S
