Today Harley Davidson officially launched their spin off company with their start up electric motorcycle…The LiveWire One.
However there is confusion already, and we’re only a few hours post the official press release. Is this a brand new motorcycle and a brand new company or is this the H-D LiveWire just merely rebranded and the EV division of H-D now set up as a new entity?
The looks are the same as the H-D Livewire. The specs are the same or similar but the price tag is completely different. The H-D Livewire starts at $29799 but the new LiveWire One starts at $21999
So if this is just a reimagined EV bike and now with extra functionality and rider engagement through their dedicated App interface, why the price difference. What is the Urban EV bike offering from LiveWire…the company and should we be excited about it.
LiveWire plan to official launch the LiveWire One at IMS North California on July 18th, 2021, with demo rides and wider product experience moments. The company are planning more products to be released over the next few months too, so get ready for a steady stream of new accessories and tech.
You can order the LiveWire One on their website today and there will be dealerships ready to take physical orders soon. Starting off in the US and planning International orders in 2022.

When ordering right now on the website, the price includes a federal tax credit of $2000 so it is retailing at $19799 and it states a 2-4 week delivery times too.
Whilst the urban range might be 146miles, the highway range is a lot less at 95miles but still perfectly usable for short commuting ranges.
The colours available are Liquid Black and Horizon White and optional accessories are a carbon fibre kit at $1299.95 which includes a speed screen and tail cowl. Tank strap, transmission accent cover and brake reservoir cover.
There is also the precision billet kit at $1299.95 which includes charge door, mirrors, hand grips, passenger footpegs and rider footpegs too.
The motor boasts 105 horsepower delivering linear and constant acceleration from zero and delivers 86ftlbs of Torque.

This new LiveWire One from this new LiveWire manufacturer could finally bring this type of motorcycle to the masses with this affordable price tag too. If you change the way you ride and use this as a daily urban rider or commuter, then use your older ICE bike for the longer hauls…this could be the perfect solution for the future…and with an 11hour overnight charge from a domestic electric outlet, this could more than fit into our new riding lives
