KTM in the United States have issued a recall for some Husqvarna and Gas Gas Motorcycles with faulty front brake calipers which can lead to brake failure and potential crash as of 16th December 2021.

The front brake calipers have retaining clips (R Clips) that can fall out when they should not. Therefore the manufacturer will replace the R Clips on the front caliper and also match the replacement for the rear caliper in order to purge old clips and in with the new.
The models affected are for off road closed course competition bikes which include:
2022 Husqvarna TE 150i
2022 Husqvarna TE 250i
2022 Husqvarna TE 300i
2022 Husqvarna FE 350
2022 Husqvarna FE 501
2021 GASGAS EC 300
2022 GASGAS EC 250
2022 GASGAS EC 300

This recall is said to affect over 3200 bikes in the US & 500+ in Canada too. Over 2000 were already recalled in both US & Canada, so not a great way to end the year for this off road motorcycle manufacturer.
Owners of motorcycles affected should check with their dealerships to see if their motorcycles are indeed affected and book in to have the free remedial work carried out. One would imagine those living in remote areas, it may not be so convenient to pop along to your nearest dealership, so an in depth conversation should be had to determine the best way to have this work done and whether any compensation for transport costs are afforded in this recall.
Owners of these motorcycles outside of the US are also encouraged to check with their dealerships to see if such a recall program has been issued for their region and whether the same components that were used in the North American bikes were also used for bike sin other regions too.
