Harley Davidson in collaboration with Hero Motocorp of India will likely release their first motorcycle, the now named X440 in July and will be predominantly for the Indian market.

More photos have been released ahead of the launch and more details are emerging yet confirmed by either company.
Harley Davidson is keen to make it a success in the lower to mid range motorcycle market as having already released their X350 and X500 for the Chinese market with it collaboration with QJ Motor.
Observers and commentators from the region are already comparing the X440 with the highly anticipated Bajaj Triumph collaborative models, being a scrambler and roadster, which will be launched in the first week of July in India also, however all of these bikes have really set their sights on stealing some ground from Royal Enfield and their highly sought after 350cc powered motorcycles.

Of course Harley Davidson left the Indian market in 2020 after failing to gain ground with their Street 500 and 750cc bikes but soon entered a partnership with Hero to act as their distributor and continue product support for existing customers, then later designing and building bikes for the future.
The images thus far show a street tracker style bike with round LED headlight and turn indicators. Wide flat bars with easy riding position for commuting or those urban rides where sit up and beg is better suited than leant forward and prone.
The X440 will have single disc brakes front and rear and reportedly with dual channel ABS. Upside-down front forks and pre-load adjustable rear dual shocks with 18inch front wheel and 17inch rear.
The engine is looking like a single cylinder with air cooling and an overhead cam producing in the region of 35hp.
Official details from Hero and Harley Davidson will be released shortly with more photos to follow.
