British biker dies on Road of Bones!

Tragic news overnight as reports come in from Russian of a British biker who has been killed in a head on collision with a lorry in Eastern Siberia on the famed and notionally treacherous Road of Bones.

Graham Vavangas, 69 and from West Sussex was on a BMW motorcycle adventure trip organised by a Russian travel company.

The Road of Bones – Kolyma Highway was built under Stalin’s reign by Gulag prisoners and got its name because of the 1000s of people died in building it and who were simply buried by the side of the road.

The motorway was built on Stalin’s orders by Gulag prisoners and got its macabre name due to the thousand of people who perished during the work and were buried under or beside the route.
